Since upgrading my iPhone 5 and iPad mini to iOS 6.1.2, the 'Updates' tab of the App Store no longer loads. It shows a blank screen for a long time and sometimes then shows a popup 'The request timed out'. The badge count over the App Store icon still shows a number, both on the home screen and over the 'Updates' tab icon in the App Store.I have tried restarting, and on both wifi and cellular. The rest of the App Store appears to work and load normally. One or two tweets on this but not much else so thought I'd start a topic. Anyone else got this?
I have the same problem as the original poster, running an iPad 2 with the latest iOS updates. The proposed solution (the problem seems to have just gone away for some users) does not hold true for me.I have closed and re-started the App Store app, to no avail. Also, the rest of the app store is available, just not updates. The app badge shows that nine updates are available, but clicking on the Updates tab always results in a wait of several minutes, and then a message that 'The request timed out' with no further information.Next I will try re-starting the iPad itself.
Since many, many others are having the same issue, I would suspect Apple is aware of the problem, despite the customary lack of acknowledgement. Download Evasi0n iOS 6.1, 6.0.1, 6.0.2 Jailbreak Tool for Windows, Mac and Linux Written by jbsquad on February 4, 2013 It is well known fact that jailbreaking is cat and mouse game between Apple and iPhone hackers and will never stop till both of them exists.
evasi0n is a jailbreak tool that can perform an untethered jailbreak on iOS 6.0-6.1.2 for all supported devices, excluding both Apple TV (3rd generation) revisions. It was first released on 4 February 2013 by evad3rs, and is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux (x86 and x86_64). There is also a Cydia package called 'evasi0n iOS 6.0-6.1.2 untether' which can untether an existing tethered jailbreak without the need to restore and use the desktop tool. It is a userlandjailbreak. P0sixninja released the source code with his Twitter announcement on 9-Sept-2017.
Supported Devices
As of evasi0n's release, the only unsupported devices are the Apple TV (3rd generation) revisions, since the kernels on these devices lack an injection vector to run unsigned code. All other devices running iOS 6.0-6.1.2 are supported (including iOS 5.2 for the Apple TV (2nd generation)).
Cydia Package
The Cydia package contains just three files:
It also includes three Debian maintenance scripts:
prerm (a bash script that cancels uninstallation if the device is not vulnerable to limera1n), as well as postrm and extrainst_ binaries.
